Three influential Enlightenment thinkers that I feel were important in providing logic, reason, and the scientific method between the interaction of the government or the economy and the citizens would be Baron de Montesquie, Thomas Hobbes and Mary Wolstonecraft. Baron de Montesquie worked for the Spirit of Laws, Thomas Hobbes worked for Leviathan, and Mary Wolstonecraft worked for freedom of women.
Baron de Montesquie was an enlightenment thinker that provided logic, reason and the scientific method between the interaction of the government and the economy and the citizen with the spirit of laws. His thoughts were of the separation of powers. Baron believed that there should be a separation of powers between the governmental bodies; an example would be the US Government System, and checks and balances. With the separation of powers, there wouldn’t be just one person deciding on a law, it would go through different governmental bodies before being chosen. This showed logic and reason within the government and economy and citizens because laws would go through congress, and or judials before being passed. This way more opinions could be made upon the law to decide whether to or not pass it. The US Government uses this system today as a fair and reasonable interaction between citizens and government and economy.
Thomas Hobbes provided logic, reason and the scientific method between the interaction of the government and the economy and the citizen with Leviathan, as an enlightenment thinker. He believed we a stronger government was needed. Thomas thought that the people needed a controlling government because they are naturally cruel, greedy and selfish. Because of this thought, the social contract was made. It is an agreement where people give up the state of nature to live in an organized society. It provides logic and reason because it keeps the citizens organized and less likely to do something cruel, greedy and or selfish. But the...
